How We Approach Learning

At Code Central, our philosophy stems from two core elements: Create an environment that provides hands-on learning, and offer a curriculum that engages student interest, curiosity, and imagination. We understand that kids learn and grow in different ways and one size does not always fit all.

Working closely with our experienced instructors, students are assigned to a learning path based on age and skill level. These tracks provide learning opportunities in programs most suitable to them as they ‘level up’ and build on their base foundation to more advanced levels.

Members of the Code Central Curriculum team were among the writers of the Nevada K-12 Academic Standards for Computer Science and Integrated Technology. These standards shape the content of what your students learn in school.

Our Curriculum has been written with these standards in mind to ensure a quality level of learning aligned with state standards. Whether your child wishes to learn to code, or needs help with passing their school classes, our program will help your child succeed academically.

Learn to Code From Home

Code Central conveniently offers quality online sessions, allowing students to learn to code from the comfort of their home or anywhere in the world!

How It Works

Our online sessions are a great fit for independent learners starting at age 7. We offer group sessions with up to 4 students working with 1 instructor, as well as private 1 on 1 sessions with an instructor. All students need is a computer with a reliable internet connection and access to a functioning microphone, and they are ready for a successful online experience!

Get ready for your online session

Prior to beginning their session, students will log into their Portal account on their computer. Portal is where students will access the link to join their session and find the curriculum for their projects. We encourage students to utilize an external monitor if they have one available as well!

Join your session

After logging into Portal, students will click a link to ‘Go to Class’ when their session begins. This will take them to a Google Meet link to join the session with their instructor. Please remember to join with a computer for the best online experience possible, we do not recommend joining with a phone or tablet.

Choose your own adventure

After joining their session, students will work with an instructor to level up their learning on a self-paced coding project. Instructors will be monitoring the screens of each student to help them code and create their projects. We do not require students to share their camera, only their computer screen and microphone.

Not at all! No prior coding experience is needed to join. We specialize in working with students of all experience levels.

We ask that students have a computer with a reliable internet connection, access to a functioning microphone, and the ability to share their screen. We do not require students to share their cameras.

There is no install needed to join online sessions, but students may need to install software to work on their projects. We include instructions in our curriculum to install software if it is needed, and instructors are available to assist with installations as well.

Although it is possible to join using a tablet, we strongly recommend using a laptop or computer as it will help students receive the best learning experience possible.

No. Students are welcome to bring their own laptop if they would like, but Code Central provides all of the education materials necessary to create their projects.

In this creative and hands-on experience, kids will learn to design and 3D model their own character using Tinkercad, guided by our expert instructors. Whether it’s a Pokémon, Skibidi Toilet, or the legendary Rocktopus, we’ve seen it all come to life! Perfect for creative minds, this party lets kids turn their wildest ideas into real 3D printed creations they can take home!

Take your child’s love for Minecraft to the next level by turning them into a game developer! During this two-hour party, kids will design and create their own custom Minecraft worlds, items, or gameplay elements using MCreator, a beginner-friendly modding tool. With hands-on guidance, they’ll bring their ideas to life by crafting unique mods, coding custom features, and personalizing their Minecraft adventures. It’s the ultimate birthday for any Minecraft fan!

In this hands-on experience, kids will explore circuitry using an Arduino microcontroller, learning exciting terms like “breadboard” and “resistor” as they wire up their own LEDs. Watch their faces light up (pun intended) as they discover the magic of engineering through creativity and play!
