Code Central’s Specialized Series are ideal for students (ages 7-15) of all skill levels aiming to further their STEM knowledge by exploring cutting-edge technologies!

VEX Robotics is an exciting and educational platform that introduces your child to the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in a hands-on and engaging way.

Critical Thinking

Building and programming robots often involve trial-and-error. When something doesn’t work as expected, students must analyze what went wrong and devise solutions. This iterative process enhances their critical thinking skills.

Team Work

VEX Robotics frequently involves teamwork, with students working together to design, build, and program robots. They learn to communicate, share ideas, and delegate tasks to achieve a common goal.

Real-World Skills

VEX Robotics introduces students to fundamental engineering concepts like mechanics, electronics, and automation. They apply these concepts in a practical context, gaining a deeper understanding of how things work.

Future Readiness

CURRICULUM BREAKDOWN

Our Tech Camp Schedule

9:00 – 9:15 AM

Students will be checked in as they arrive and introduced to each other.

9:15 – 10:45 AM

Students will be introduced to VEX Robotics, choose their desired project and begin the building process.

10:45 – 11:00 AM

This will be a short snack break for the students. Snacks are provided.

11:00 – 12:30 PM

Students will continue building their VEX Robots, with a focus on the robot’s movement

12:30 – 1:00 PM

Students will take a break from building to have lunch. Please remember to bring a lunch as it is not provided.

1:00 – 2:00 PM

Students will complete their VEX Robots, demonstrate its functionality and have free time to experiment with their creation.

2:00 – 2:30 PM

Students will take a break from building their robots to participate in a group unplugged activity.

2:30 – 3:00 PM

Students will be picked up and will be able to showcase their VEX Robots

Attending Code Central was an enriching experience for both Vincent and Bella. The program offered a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that made learning to code fun and accessible. The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and always ready to lend a hand. A special shoutout to Sam and Monica for their efforts that made everything run smoothly. My children walked away with newfound skills and a deeper appreciation for the world of coding. Highly recommended for anyone looking to delve into programming!

My son has been taking 1:1 private lessons with Code Central. He has learned a lot over the past year from basic coding, basic electrical wiring, beginner 3d modeling and creating a website. All the staffs are knowledgeable and amazing to talk and work with. My son love everyone whom he worked with especially Melody. Melody has nothing but patient and taught my son so many things. He always comes home and proudly talks about the great projects that he has accomplished and done. We also appreciate that they take time to have a Family Watch week where we can sit in for 30 mins and show us what our child has been working on. Melody took the time to explain the pathway to my son’s individualized curriculum. I appreciate that they cater it to my son’s learning capacity, attention span and ability to retain information and his typing skills. My son always look forward to going to his private lessons once a week.

My son recently did the code central camp week, and he absolutely loved it!I had a few questions before we signed him up, and the staff was super friendly and informative!My son comes home from camp every day telling me how awesome his day was, and excited to go back for more the next day! (And for a kid who hates to get out of bed before noon, this is huge! Lol) They even break up the day with fun little non-screen time activities, which I love!10/10 recommend signing your child up for classes here. We will definitely be looking into more classes with code central!

code central is a great place that offers things for many. no matter the skill level, there is things for you to do. from robotics and electronics, to game development and python, there’s nothing to bore you. this sounds like an advertisement but it really isn’t, and the past 4 years i’ve been going here has been amazing. i recommend this to any coder.

Code Central's staff has really opened my eyes to what's possible for our young kids in the way of learning new computer coding skill sets. I have no doubt that these students will become critical parts in our society's computing and coding revolution. We are a homeschooling family, but coding is something I can't currently teach. So I was delighted to discover Code Central. My kids love going! They talk each week about what the accomplished. The curriculum seems to be broken up into manageable chunks to allow for real learning of the project they are working on. The teachers are all positive, upbeat and knowledgeable. They work with our family to make sure we get the most out of our scheduled time there. We have enjoyed some extras there also, such as: Kid's Night Out, Girl Scout Coding and now Lego Technics. Always fun! Always educational! I highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Code Central. My son has been attending classes in person and because he loves it so much, he has attended summer camp for two years also. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. He has learned so much and always enjoys coming to classes. The facility is always clean and I have no reservations leaving my child there for classes if I can’t stick around.

Talei

Talei began coding when she was a freshman in high school, learning from tutorials online and making websites for fun. She continued studying on her own and attended a web development bootcamp in Las Vegas, NV. Since graduating in 2019, Talei has worked as a software engineer, working in both frontend and backend roles. She is currently studying cybersecurity at WGU and enjoys going to music festivals in her free time!

Melody

Melody has been with Code Central since the opening of the Henderson location, starting out as a student, then a student volunteer, and now instructor. She is currently a senior at Silverado High School. Melody is passionate about coding and teaching others how to code. She is also a talented artist and cat lover.
