Design a 3D Game
In Unreal Engine!
With Code Central’s Nevada Department of Education and STEM.org-accredited curriculum, students turn their passions into skills that will set them up for success in a fun and inviting environment. Our upcoming Tech Camp focuses on building a 3D Platformer Video Game in Unreal Engine!
Date: Monday, November 11th (Veteran’s Day)
Time: 9 AM – 3 PM
Cost: $99 for Guests, $79 for Members
Location: Code Central Henderson
What to Bring: Please pack a lunch; snacks will be provided
OUR SPECIALIZED TECH CAMP
Jump into the world of game creation, with a platformer experience akin to classic games like Super Mario — only in full 3D!
Throughout this immersive camp, students will:
- Explore Unreal Engine: Learn the same software used in popular games like Fortnite!
- Bring Characters to Life: Get their player moving through custom-designed landscapes.
- Add Adventure & Challenges: Add coins to collect, points to earn, and hazards to avoid.
- Design Unique Levels: Make each level unique with custom features and designs.
WHAT IS UNREAL ENGINE?
Unreal Engine is a powerful software used to create 3D games, animations, and interactive experiences.
Unreal Engine is a versatile platform used by professionals to create interactive and visually rich experiences across many industries. Some examples of Unreal Engine include:
- Popular Video Games – Unreal Engine is behind many well-known games like Fortnite, Rocket League, and Street Fighter.
- Movies and TV Shows – Unreal Engine is used in film and TV production to create realistic backgrounds and special effects without needing as many physical sets.
- Virtual Reality (VR) Experiences – The engine is also used to develop VR experiences for everything from education to virtual tourism.
- Automotive Design – Companies like BMW and Audi use Unreal Engine to create realistic car simulations.
3D GAME DEVELOPMENT BENEFITS
3D Game Development encourages innovative learning through a variety of ways
3D MODELING BENEFITS
3D Modeling encourages innovative learning through a variety of ways
Critical Thinking
Building and designing 3D games often involve trial-and-error. When something doesn’t work as expected, students must analyze what went wrong and devise solutions. This iterative process enhances their critical thinking skills.
Team Work
3D Game Development frequently involves teamwork, with students working together to design, build, and print their models. They learn to communicate, share ideas, and delegate tasks to achieve a common goal.
Creativity and Innovation
Students will enhance their creativity by designing unique 3D experiences, encouraging them to think outside the box, experiment with their creations and explore many different ideas visually.
Future Readiness
3D Game Development helps expose children to technology from an early age. They learn to work with software components and different design programs, developing digital literacy and a comfort level with technology that is essential in nearly all career fields.
